PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Justin Glauthier, 30, of Anaheim, California, was arrested on March 5 and charged with cyberstalking, making obscene interstate calls, and threatening women across several states, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Rhode Island announced today.
The federal criminal complaint alleges that Glauthier used personal details, such as names and photos of at least nine women, which he obtained online, to harass and intimidate his victims. Glauthier allegedly made dozens of sexually explicit and threatening phone calls, demanding that victims stay on the line while he made explicit comments. He also allegedly threatened to show up at their homes or workplaces if they didn’t comply.
The threatening phone calls were made using internet-based phone applications and caller ID masking, allowing Glauthier to conceal his identity. The victims reported emotional distress, disruptions to their personal and professional lives, and fear for their safety.
FBI agents from both the Providence and Orange County, California, field offices arrested Glauthier. He is expected to make his initial court appearance before a U.S. magistrate judge in Santa Clara, California.
