Budgam Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers, Recover Cannabis from Their Possession

In a significant operation, police in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir, arrested two drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of cannabis.

The first arrest took place at Kremshora, where Imtiyaz Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Chodribagh Kremshora Khansahab, was detained after three sticks of cannabis wrapped in corn husk were found in his possession. The total weight of the recovered substance was about 69.28 grams.

During questioning, Sofi revealed that he had sourced the contraband from Mohammad Wahid Thoker, another resident of Kremshora, who had hidden additional cannabis at his home. Acting on this information, the police raided Thoker’s house and recovered cannabis powder weighing approximately 550 grams.

Both suspects have been arrested, and a case under relevant sections of the law has been filed at the Khansahab Police Station. Investigations are ongoing as the police continue to crack down on drug trafficking in the region.
