Bruno Renteria Arrested in El Paso After Stealing Lumber from Construction Sites

El Paso, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A crime suppression operation conducted by the El Paso County Sheriff’s East Montana Patrol Station from March 7 to March 9 led to a significant arrest and multiple other charges related to property crimes in the area.

The operation aimed to target crimes such as burglaries, thefts, and illegal dumping, specifically in the areas of Windermere, Cherrington, and along Bob Hope Area, Peyton and Emerald Pass, and Mager and Concentrate.

During the operation, detectives made a notable arrest when they observed a suspect collecting lumber from two homes under construction in the 15200 block of Imagine Dr.. A traffic stop was conducted after the suspect violated traffic laws. Authorities contacted a representative at the construction site, who confirmed the individual, later identified as 29-year-old Bruno Renteria, had stolen over 40 pieces of lumber without permission.

Renteria was arrested and booked into the Downtown Jail on charges of theft of property with a bond set at $1,000.

In addition to the arrest of Renteria, deputies conducted 20 other traffic stops during the operation, resulting in several arrests and charges, including:

1 arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
2 arrests for Possession of Controlled Substance (THC)
1 arrest for Possession of Marijuana
1 detention of a Runaway Minor
1 arrest for Illegal Dumping
1 arrest for Theft of Property
1 arrest for Driving While Intoxicated
The Sheriff’s Office stated that the operation aimed to reduce property crimes and ensure safety in the targeted communities.
