Broxton Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests of McCall & Carranza

Police find narcotics, drone during traffic stop on US 441 N

BROXTON, Ga. (WALB) — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two individuals in Broxton, Georgia, after officers discovered a large quantity of narcotics and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) inside the vehicle.

The Broxton Police Department (BPD) reported that officers conducted the stop on US 441 N at approximately 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found multiple shrink-wrapped narcotics packages concealed inside a bag made of artificial turf or carpet. Authorities also discovered a cell phone and a large drone, which raised further suspicion.

As a result, Amanda McCall, 31, and Gustavo Carranza, 37, were arrested and transported to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. Both suspects face charges for violating the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.

Law enforcement has not yet disclosed the type or quantity of drugs seized, and the investigation remains ongoing.
