Brooklynn Chandler Willy, the CEO and president of Texas Financial Advisory in San Antonio, was arrested Tuesday at her Stone Oak office by IRS agents. Willy, 45, was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on three charges, including obstruction of justice and aggravated identity theft.
Willy, who also hosts a financial radio show, is facing significant legal troubles, which have been mounting in recent years. Following her arrest, she appeared in court shackled, where U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth “Betsy” Chestney set a detention hearing for Friday to determine whether Willy can be released on bond. Prosecutors have requested she remain in custody, citing concerns that she poses a “substantial risk for obstructing justice.”
Willy’s attorney, Roy Barrera Jr., declined to comment on the specifics of the charges but stated that the case would be handled in court. He expressed that the arrest came as a “shock” to Willy and her family, and assured that they would provide the best legal representation possible.
