A Bronx man has been arrested for allegedly scamming two grandmothers from Long Island out of more than $25,000, according to an announcement from Nassau County authorities.

Jaime Castillo, 36, is accused of pretending to be an attorney named Raymond Allen, claiming to represent the victims’ grandchildren. Castillo reportedly called the women, telling them their grandchildren had been arrested and needed immediate bail money. He then arranged to meet them in person to collect the cash.

Nassau County Police were able to arrest Castillo after the fraudulent scheme came to light. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
