Brockton Man Arrested for Secretly Filming Woman at East Bridgewater YMCA

EAST BRIDGEWATER, MASS. (WHDH) — A Brockton man, Abidan Rivera, 42, was arrested Monday after allegedly filming a woman at the East Bridgewater YMCA, authorities said.

According to the East Bridgewater Police Department, Rivera, a registered level two sex offender, was identified through video surveillance footage and an eyewitness account.

Police responded to the YMCA on Sunday, March 3, following a report of suspicious activity. After an investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Rivera.

He has been charged with photographing, videotaping, or electronically surveilling a person in a state of undress.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the incident. The case remains under investigation.
