A British woman, Jude Hill, has been arrested in Thailand following a bizarre incident at a hotel in Pattaya on Christmas morning. Hill, a mother-of-one from Plymouth, is accused of trying to have sex on a glass table in the hotel lobby, which reportedly shattered around 3 a.m. on December 25.
According to reports, Hill and her partner began engaging in inappropriate behavior on a sofa before attempting to continue on the glass table, which eventually broke, damaging the property. Hotel staff intervened, discovering that the couple were not registered guests at the hotel. The situation escalated, with Hill allegedly refusing to leave and causing a disturbance.
As hotel staff attempted to resolve the situation, Hill reportedly fled the scene and ran towards the beach. There, she was confronted by an armed officer. The altercation escalated further when Hill allegedly grappled with the officer. Bystanders eventually assisted in subduing her, and she was taken into custody, escorted to a local police station in handcuffs.
Footage of the incident shows Hill shouting insults at the officers while being escorted to the station. Local authorities are currently holding her for questioning.
Hill had recently traveled to Thailand with her son after a traumatic event at her home in the UK. Her property in Elburton, Plymouth, was severely damaged by a fire in September, which police have confirmed was caused by arson. An accelerant was used to ignite her Audi Q2, which was parked in the driveway. The fire spread to the house, causing substantial damage, but fortunately, Hill and her family were evacuated without injury.
The arrest and chaotic events in Pattaya come as a shock to her family and friends back home. Local hotel staff stated that after the incident, they escorted the couple off the premises and filed a report with the police. Despite the disruptions caused, it is understood that the hotel staff’s decision to call the authorities led to the eventual resolution of the incident.
Hill is currently under investigation in Thailand for the incident, with charges expected to follow.
