Brij Shukla Arrested for Alleged Scam in Evesham Township

Evesham Township, NJ (WPVI) – Police in Evesham Township, New Jersey, have arrested a suspect believed to be involved in a recent scam. Brij Shukla, a 28-year-old man from Cherry Hill, is facing a charge of third-degree criminal attempt.

The scam was reported by a local resident, who told police they had received a call from someone pretending to be a member of the FBI. The caller falsely claimed that the victim owed $40,000 to the government. The scammer instructed the victim to withdraw the money, with the promise that a “courier” would come to collect it.

Authorities intercepted Shukla while he was on his way to pick up the money from the victim’s home. He was arrested without incident.
