A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a series of domestic abuse offenses committed over 15 years in the Edinburgh area.
Brian Taylor, 54, was convicted on eight charges following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh. He returned for sentencing on May 23, 2024.
Detective Inspector Mhairi Cooper from the Edinburgh Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit stated, “Taylor is an abusive individual who showed no remorse for his violent behavior. Confronting an abuser is incredibly difficult, and I commend the women who bravely came forward during the investigation. Their testimonies were crucial in building our case against him, and I hope this outcome brings them some closure.”
She added, “If anyone is experiencing or has experienced domestic abuse, please reach out to us or one of our partner agencies.”
