Brian Paul Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Leads to Drug Seizure

North Bay, ON – A stolen vehicle from a North Bay driveway led to an arrest and the seizure of nearly $3,000 worth of illegal drugs. On October 2, 2023, the North Bay Police Service received a report of a vehicle stolen from a victim’s driveway overnight. The vehicle was later found in the 400-block of Main Street East with clear signs of tampering, indicating it had been started without a key.

The Forensic Identification Unit gathered evidence from the vehicle, linking the accused to the theft. The accused and victim were unknown to each other.

On November 20, 2024, police located the accused in the 100-block of Lakeshore Drive. During his arrest, officers discovered illegal narcotics, leading to additional charges. Authorities seized 24 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of fentanyl, four suspected Percocet pills, drug trafficking equipment, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately $2,900.

Brian Lyle Paul, 54, of North Bay, faces multiple charges, including:

Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
Failure to comply with a release order
Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Paul is currently in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
