Brandon Peters Fired After Arrest for Drug Possession and Public Intoxication

A Sycamore High School teacher in Cheatham County, Tennessee, was terminated from his position after being arrested on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. The district confirmed the firing of Brandon Peters, who had been employed by the school since 2024.

The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office reported that Peters, 29, was arrested at the school and charged with possession of a Schedule VI drug, which includes marijuana and THC, as well as public intoxication. The arrest occurred while Peters was on school property.

The school district’s review of Peters’ personnel file revealed no previous issues or complaints. However, after learning of the arrest, the district moved forward with the decision to terminate his employment.

Peters’ case is currently under investigation, and further details about the arrest will be disclosed as they become available.
