Bradford Wayne Byrnes Arrested After High-Speed Chase

A 34-year-old man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon following a vehicle pursuit in a stolen car that concluded in Aguanga, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies first responded around 1:57 p.m. on May 21 to the area near Highways 371 and 79 after locating a vehicle previously reported stolen, said department spokesperson Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez.

The suspect, identified as Bradford Wayne Byrnes, led deputies on a chase before abandoning the vehicle near Boulder Way in Anza and attempting to flee on foot.

A perimeter was quickly established, and patrol units—supported by the department’s helicopter, Star9—conducted a thorough search of the area. Byrnes was located shortly thereafter and arrested without incident.

He was subsequently booked into the Southwest Detention Center.
