Boston Police Officer Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges After Christmas Day Incident

Hull, MA — Terrence Murray, a four-year veteran of the Boston Police Department, was arrested on Christmas Day after an alleged domestic violence incident in Hull, Massachusetts. Murray faces charges of assault and battery on a household member, improper storage of a firearm, and other related offenses.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on December 25, 2024, around 6 a.m., when Murray and the victim, his partner, got into an argument after Murray returned home from an overnight shift. The victim reportedly asked him to finish wrapping presents, which led to a confrontation. During the argument, Murray allegedly threw a present across the room, pushed the victim to the ground, and punched a hole in a door, all while children were sleeping in the house.

The victim declined medical attention but told officers that Murray had been growing “increasingly angry and emotional” in the moments leading up to the altercation.

When officers arrived, Murray had already left the scene. However, he was later located and taken into custody. Authorities also discovered his duty firearm under the rear seat of his vehicle, a Jeep, along with what they believed to be steroids.

Boston police confirmed that Murray is currently assigned to District 3 and has been placed on administrative duty while the department’s Bureau of Professional Standards conducts an investigation into the incident. This arrest has raised concerns regarding both domestic violence and officer conduct, and authorities are taking the matter seriously as it remains under investigation.

This case is ongoing, and authorities are continuing to evaluate the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
