Boise Man Arrested After Hours-Long Standoff

BOISE, ID (CBS2) — A Boise man was arrested Friday night following an hours-long standoff with law enforcement.

Cody Harrigan, 41, was apprehended after Boise Police responded to a report of an attempted strangulation at a home near South Leadville Avenue and West Highland Street. Officers were able to safely remove the victim and three children from the residence, but Harrigan remained inside for several hours.

The Boise Police Special Operations Unit and crisis negotiators worked to establish communication with Harrigan, who eventually exited the home and surrendered to authorities. Harrigan was arrested and charged with felony attempted strangulation, as well as misdemeanor resisting or obstructing officers.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
