DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) – A 61-year-old man from Panther, Daviess County, has been arrested on meth trafficking charges following an investigation by local and federal agencies.
Bobby Darrell Wright Jr. was taken into custody after a joint operation involving the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Homeland Security, and other agencies. Last Tuesday, authorities executed a search warrant at Wright’s home in Panther, where they found evidence linking him to a drug trafficking operation, including methamphetamine, scales, pipes with residue, a loaded handgun, and cash.
Although Wright was not at home during the search, he was arrested the following day and found with additional meth, two handguns, and a rifle. Investigators say Wright became a suspect after receiving tips from the community about his suspected drug activities. Detectives had previously conducted controlled buys from him, totaling approximately 1.5 pounds of meth.
Wright faces numerous charges, including:
Trafficking Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine) (3 Counts)
Trafficking Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (While Armed) (2 Counts)
Possession of Marijuana (While Armed) (1 Count)
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess (While Armed) (1 Count)
Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon (2 Counts)
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (1 Count)
Authorities continue to investigate the case as Wright remains in custody.
