Bluffton Man Joseph Richard Miller Charged with Child Exploitation

Joseph Richard Miller, a 62-year-old Bluffton man, is facing four felony charges in connection with the possession of child sexual abuse material. The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office confirmed the arrest of Miller, who has been charged with four counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Miller’s arrest came after investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to the Attorney General’s Office, Miller was found to possess files containing child sexual abuse material.

Each of the charges is a felony, and if convicted, Miller could face up to 10 years in prison per count. He was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center and is currently awaiting further legal proceedings.
