BJP Leader Naveen Arora Arrested in Casino Raid

In a significant crackdown on illegal gambling, police raided a high-profile casino event at BJP leader Naveen Arora’s hotel, Harmony Inn, located on Garh Road in Meerut. The operation, led by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and the SP City team, resulted in the arrest of 15 individuals, including Arora himself.

Authorities revealed that the casino event featured an entry fee of Rs1 lakh and included models flown in from Mumbai to enhance the experience for the attendees. The event attracted over three dozen affluent guests from the region. However, when news of the raid broke, several high-profile participants attempted to flee the scene.

Naveen Arora, who previously served as the city treasurer, was apprehended along with other suspects. The police have initiated a case under Section 13G at the Nochaandi police station, with ongoing investigations aimed at locating those who escaped the raid.

This startling incident has raised concerns regarding the prevalence of illegal activities in prominent establishments within the area, prompting further scrutiny of such venues.
