Billy Ray Potter and Kenzi Caldwell Arrested on Drug Charges in Hudson

HUDSON, NC — A pair of suspects from Hudson, North Carolina, were arrested on drug charges last Friday, March 14, after law enforcement executed a drug search warrant at a residence on Pioneer Trail.

58-year-old Billy Ray Potter and 30-year-old Kenzi Lynn Caldwell were arrested by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers. Potter faces felony charges, including possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, as well as maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances. Potter is also under indictment for previous narcotics trafficking charges. Caldwell is charged with felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances and is currently on probation for prior narcotics offenses.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office ICE Unit and Lenoir Narcotics Detectives responded to the Pioneer Trail residence, which was reportedly being used as a location for selling methamphetamine. Officers seized approximately 22 grams of meth, with an estimated street value of $3,300, and $600 in cash during the search.

Both suspects were incarcerated in the Caldwell County Detention Center. Potter was denied bond, while Caldwell was held under a $25,000 secured bond. Potter is scheduled to appear in District Court, while Caldwell’s court date is set for March 31.
