Biao Lin Charged in $3M Scam Involving Gold Bars

In a shocking incident, an 86-year-old woman from Portland was set to hand over five one-kilogram gold bars and three 100-gram bars, valued at $462,398, to a courier when the FBI intervened. Authorities arrested Biao Lin, a 27-year-old Chinese citizen residing in Brooklyn, NY, who allegedly traveled across the U.S. to collect the gold as part of a $3 million fraud scheme.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Kerin, Lin was charged with federal fraud offenses in connection with this elaborate conspiracy.
