Bharat Jangam Arrested in Sai Swagat Cooperative Fraud Case

KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Anti-corruption activist Bharat Jangam has been arrested in connection with the Sai Swagat Cooperative fraud case. Jangam, who is the former chairman of the Baneshwar-based cooperative, was taken into custody by a team from the Kathmandu District Police Range.

According to SSP Basanta Rajaure of the Kathmandu District Police Range, an investigation into the matter will begin once a remand order is obtained from the court.

Notably, Nikita Paudel, the wife of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chairperson Rabi Lamichhane, previously served as the vice-chairperson of the Sai Swagat Cooperative. The case has attracted significant attention, and authorities are working to uncover the full scope of the alleged fraud.
