Bethany Link and Madison Murphy Arrested on Drug Charges in Hickory

Hickory Police arrested 36-year-old Bethany Patrice Link of Windhaven Drive N.W. in Conover and 27-year-old Madison Paige Murphy of Woods Avenue in Newton on Monday afternoon. The two women were charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Link also faced a warrant for misdemeanor failure to appear, while Murphy was charged with misdemeanor interference with an electronic monitoring device. The arrests took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street S.W. and 8th Avenue Drive S.W. in Hickory.

Both suspects were initially placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility. Link’s bond was set at $9,500, and she remained in custody as of Wednesday afternoon. Murphy was released and is no longer in custody. Both women were scheduled to appear in District Court on January 28 in Newton, but no further court dates have been listed at this time.
