Bengaluru Software Engineer Arrested for Selling High-Quality OG Kush

Siva Ram, a 28-year-old software engineer working for a reputed company in Bengaluru, was arrested by the Prohibition and Excise Department on Monday for allegedly selling high-quality foreign ganja. The arrest followed a tip-off about the illegal sale and transportation of OG Kush, a premium variety of ganja, at Prashanth Hills Colony in Raidurg.

Siva Ram, originally from East Godavari district, was caught after a surprise raid by the excise team, which had been monitoring the area. Authorities seized 175 grams of OG Kush, one kilogram of dry ganja, Rs1.91 lakh in sale proceeds, a mobile phone, and a bike from his possession.

According to Shamshabad Prohibition and Excise Officer Krishna Priya, Siva Ram, who worked as a consultant in Bengaluru, had been traveling to Hyderabad on weekends to sell the contraband. He reportedly sourced the OG Kush from his supplier, Ajay Karra, in Bengaluru, purchasing it for Rs1,500 per gram and selling it for Rs3,000 per gram.

Ajay Karra, who is believed to have supplied the drugs to Siva Ram, is currently absconding.

In a separate incident, police in Nashik City pursued and apprehended drug traffickers on January 8. Eight control room (CR) mobile vans chased a vehicle suspected of carrying illegal contraband. After a one-hour pursuit across various locations in the city, police discovered 28 kilograms of ganja concealed in the trunk of the car.
