Bengaluru’s Cybercrime Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) police, operating out of the North Division, have successfully dismantled an online job fraud racket. The authorities arrested 10 individuals involved in scamming job seekers, marking a significant breakthrough in the case. The arrests took place after a detailed investigation into the fraudulent activities that targeted numerous victims.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sayed Yahya, Umar Faruk, Mohamud Maheen, Mohamud Muzamil, Thejash, Chethan, Washim, Sayed Zaid, Sahi Abdul Anan, and Omprakash. During the raids, the police recovered Rs1,74,000 in cash, froze Rs7,34,768 from bank accounts, and seized 72 mobile phones, 182 debit cards, 133 SIM cards from various telecom companies, 2 laptops, and 127 bank passbooks. These items were used by the fraudsters to carry out their illegal activities, and the seizure is expected to help trace further financial transactions linked to the scam.
