Belinda Brown Arrested on Fraud Charges in Moore County, NC

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — A 64-year-old woman from West End, North Carolina, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies following a fraud investigation in the Carthage area. According to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of fraudulent activity on January 24, 2024, which led to a detailed investigation.

As a result, Belinda Brown was arrested on February 8 and charged with one count of felony forgery of deeds or wills, one count of felony illegally performing notarial acts, and one count of felony illegal use of a notary seal.

Brown was taken into custody and is being held at the Moore County Detention Center without bond, in accordance with HB-813. She is scheduled for her first court appearance in Moore County District Court on February 28, 2024.

Authorities have not released additional details at this time. As with all criminal defendants, Brown is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
