In a parallel operation, Barabanki police made a significant drug bust, confiscating 52 quintals of illegal ‘bhang’ on the same day. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dinesh Kumar Singh confirmed that officers from the Ramnagar police station arrested two smugglers at the Kishunpur turn and seized a truck used for transporting the narcotics.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Pradeep Kumar Yadav and Sheelu Yadav, both residents of Ramnagar village under the Fatehpur police station area in Barabanki district. The police registered a case against the accused under the Excise Act at the Ramnagar police station.
With drug trafficking on the rise, Uttar Pradesh Police have intensified their efforts to combat the growing narcotics menace.
