Bangkok Police Arrest Notorious Thief Suthin for Armed Robbery

BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Police have arrested a notorious thief known for repeatedly stealing food from local shops. The suspect, identified as 57-year-old Suthin, was apprehended December 1 at the entrance of Soi Pracha Uthit 10, Huai Khwang district, following a warrant issued by the Criminal Court.

Suthin’s most recent crime occurred on October 27, around 9:30 a.m., at a shop located on Pracha Uthit 18. The shop owner reported that a man armed with a knife entered the store and stole various food items. Among the stolen goods were six packs of Vitamilk, one sandwich, six packets of instant noodles, and eight packs of cookies. While the items had a modest value, the armed robbery itself raised serious concerns.

Deputy Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Theeradej Thamsuthee, led the investigation into a string of similar petty thefts committed by Suthin across the Huai Khwang area. The series of thefts had caused growing anxiety among local shopkeepers and residents about the safety of their properties.

After his arrest, Suthin confessed to the crime, citing poverty and desperation as the driving forces behind his actions. He admitted to stealing food to survive and explained that he had no family, job, or children to rely on. His confession was verified through CCTV footage from the shop, which captured his involvement in the theft.

Suthin has been formally charged and is currently being held at the Huai Khwang Police Station for further legal proceedings.
