Bajpe Police Arrest Trio for Acid Attack Attempt and Robbery

In a dramatic turn of events, Bajpe Police have arrested three individuals who attempted to rob a woman of her jewelry by throwing acid on her while disguised in burqas. The robbery attempt occurred at a finance society owned by Leslie D’ Cunha in Bajpe village, Mangaluru.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Preethesh alias Preethu (31) from Shantigudde, Bajpe, Dhanraj alias Dhanu (30) from Kodikere, Suratkal, and Kusumakar alias Annu (37) from Baala Kumbalakere.

The incident took place on July 4, when the three accused attempted to rob jewelry from the finance society. According to the police, the robbers, disguised in burqas, tried to intimidate the victim, Leslie D’ Cunha, by throwing acid at her, but their plan was thwarted. The police managed to track down the suspects and have seized property worth approximately Rs15 lakh, including an Innova car, a Swift car, and several scooters.

Investigations revealed that the trio had a history of criminal activities. Preethesh has multiple theft cases against him, while Dhanraj has been involved in several serious crimes, including attempted murder. Kusumakar, too, has a criminal record, with theft cases registered against him.

A case has been filed, and the investigation is ongoing. The police are now looking into possible links to other criminal activities in the region.
