Bachupally police arrested Nasar alias Mohd Nasaruddin (34) on Thursday for his involvement in six criminal cases, including burglaries and a murder-for-gain incident. The police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs 20 lakh from his possession.
Nasaruddin, a sofa repair worker residing in HMT Hills, Kukatpally, had a history of targeting locked houses, committing thefts during the night. His previous criminal activities had led to cases being registered at KPHB and Bachupally police stations, along with a murder-for-gain case in Saroornagar in 2019. He had previously been detained under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act and spent time in prison.
A complaint was filed, prompting the police to launch an investigation. With the help of CCTV footage, investigators identified Nasaruddin and tracked him down to his shop. Upon his arrest, the stolen gold was recovered from his possession.
Nasaruddin’s arrest has provided a significant breakthrough in solving multiple criminal cases, and the police continue their efforts to uncover more details of his illegal activities.
