Awantipora Police Arrest Three Drug Peddlers with 8.16 kg of Poppy Straw

Awantipora Police continue their crackdown on drug trafficking, having successfully arrested three drug peddlers from the Pampore area. The arrests were made during a routine vehicle check at Galander Crossing, where a police team from Pampore Police Station, led by Inspector Naieem Ahmad, intercepted the suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Owais Gull, Tariq Ah Sheikh, and Mushtaq Ah Mir. The three were traveling on a scooter, which was signaled to stop for a routine check. Upon conducting a thorough search, the police discovered 8.16 kilograms of grinded poppy straw-like substance in their possession.

The scooter, with the registration number JK13E-7562, which was used in the commission of the crime, has also been seized. The police are now investigating further, as part of their ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
