Awantipora Police Arrest Drug Peddler, Seize 3.945 Kg Poppy Straw

In a successful operation against drug trafficking, the Awantipora Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 3.945 kilograms of poppy straw. The arrest took place after a routine naka checking led by Station House Officer (SHO) Khalid Fayaz.

During the inspection of an Innova vehicle with registration number , the police recovered a significant quantity of grinded poppy straw. The accused, identified as Shabir Ahmad Khan, son of Noor Mohammad Khan from Lethpora, was arrested on the spot. The vehicle used for transporting the contraband was also seized.

A case has been filed under FIR No. 182/2024 at the Awantipora Police Station, and further investigations are currently underway. The police continue to intensify efforts to combat drug-related issues in the region.
