Augusta Man, Alexander Thang, Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

A 27-year-old man from Augusta, identified as Alexander Thang, was arrested Thursday morning on drug trafficking charges after a multi-agency operation. The Augusta Police Department, in collaboration with the ATF, MDEA, HIS, and Maine State Police, executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence on Spring Street at approximately 4 a.m.

The arrest was the culmination of an ongoing investigation into the illegal distribution of narcotics in the area. During the operation, authorities seized an undisclosed amount of narcotics and contraband. Thang is facing charges of Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs.

The operation highlights the continued efforts by law enforcement to target and dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
