Assistant Police Inspector Arrested for Rs 2 Lakh Bribe in Nagpur

An Assistant Police Inspector from Nagpur, Pramanand Dadarao Katre, was arrested on Wednesday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. Katre, who was posted at the Koradi police station, demanded the bribe to avoid taking legal action against an individual involved in a fraudulent Rs 5 crore land deal.

The individual who was targeted by Katre’s extortion scheme reported the demand to the ACB, which subsequently laid a trap to apprehend the accused. Following the operation, Katre was arrested and is now facing charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act, as stated in an official statement from the ACB.

Katre’s arrest highlights ongoing efforts to combat corruption within law enforcement agencies.
