Assam STF Seizes Rs 6 Crore Worth of Heroin, Arrests Drug Peddler

On Sunday, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) made a major drug bust, seizing a consignment of heroin worth Rs6 crore smuggled from Manipur. The operation led to the arrest of two individuals, including a drug peddler.

According to STF officials, acting on a tip-off, the team intercepted a Tata Nexon car at Amingaon, near Guwahati, and seized 637 grams of heroin, valued at Rs6 crore. The arrested individual was identified as Murtaza Ahmed, also known as Bhulu, aged 31.

During questioning, the STF learned that Bhulu had been tasked with transporting the drugs to the Baihata and Rangia regions. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the drug smuggling network.
