n a significant drug bust, Assam police seized 10,000 Yaba tablets and 11 grams of suspected heroin during a raid at the Central Guest House in Naharoni Path, Hatigaon, on the night of November 12, 2024. The operation, carried out by the EGPD team from Dispur Police Station, led to the arrest of five individuals involved in the drug trade.
The arrested suspects were identified as Md Hasu Miya (45) from Sarthebari, Amina Khatun (40) from Bilasipara, Akmal Hussain (27) from Patharkandi, and Yeahiya Ahmed (24) from Karimganj. In addition to the drugs, police recovered four mobile phones and ₹5,000 in cash from the suspects.
Authorities have initiated legal action against the individuals as part of their ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking in the region. The investigation into their network is still underway.
