In a successful operation, Assam Police arrested three suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, during a raid in Borchapori village, Bhelouguri. The police acted on a tip-off and conducted the operation under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Hemanta Borgohain.
The raid resulted in the seizure of 35 drug-filled containers and a soapbox containing around 15 grams of narcotics. Additionally, police confiscated two mobile phones believed to be used in drug-related activities.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Nizam Uddin (alias Nizam), Minara Khatun, and Ansarul Islam. Investigations revealed that Nizam Uddin and his partner, Minara Khatun, had been running a well-organized drug trade in Borchapori for an extended period.
Notably, Nizam Uddin is a repeat offender with several prior arrests for drug trafficking. Despite having served time in prison, he allegedly resumed his illegal activities upon release, continuing to fuel the region’s drug network.
