Assam Police Arrest Four in Major Drug Bust Worth Rs. 120 Crore

In a major breakthrough, Assam Police arrested four individuals involved in a significant drug syndicate. A joint operation with the Special Task Force (STF) led to raids across Karimganj and Cachar districts, where authorities seized drugs worth over Rs. 120 crore.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Noimul Haque, Fuzail Ahmed, Atiqur Rahman (alias Atik), and Jagajit Deb Barma (alias Barman). Based on intelligence received, the police discovered an astonishing stash of 3,50,000 Yaba tablets and 1.3 kg of heroin, concealed inside 100 soap cases stored in hidden chambers within a 12-wheeler truck.

The operation, fueled by a confidential tip-off, marks a significant step in the ongoing fight against the drug trade in Assam, with the authorities determined to dismantle this large-scale trafficking network. The police continue their investigation into the syndicate’s operations and connections across the region.
