Assam Police Arrest Duo Posing as CBI Officers in ₹1 Crore Scam

Fraudsters Collected Money from Victims Under False Pretenses

Police in Assam have arrested two men for allegedly collecting money by falsely claiming to be CBI officers. The suspects, identified as Paban Kumar Borpatra and Zakir Bor, were apprehended in Bhanmukh Pattar village in the Shivasagar district.

Investigations revealed that the duo defrauded over Rs1 crore from a doctor in Chitradurga, using their impersonation to gain trust and extract funds. The police are continuing their investigation to identify other potential victims and determine the full extent of the scam.
