ASI K. Madhu Sudan Rao Arrested in ₹50,000 Bribery Case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended K. Madhu Sudan Rao, an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) at Medchal Police Station, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs50,000.

Caught in the act, Rao was arrested by ACB’s Hyderabad City Range-2 Unit around 6:30 PM on Monday. According to the ACB’s statement released on Tuesday, Rao had demanded the bribe from a complainant in exchange for refraining from taking coercive action and for facilitating the resolution of a payment dispute between the complainant and his customers.

During the operation, the bribe money was recovered from Rao. A subsequent chemical test confirmed the presence of the substance on his right-hand fingers and the back pocket of his trousers, where the cash was stored.

Following his arrest, K. Madhu Sudan Rao was presented before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at the Nampally Court in Hyderabad.
