Arunachal Police Bust Interstate Drug Trafficking Arrest Babul Islam

erdewa Police, under Operation Dawn, apprehended an interstate drug peddler and seized 13.46 grams of heroin from his possession on Friday. The operation targeted the illegal drug trade between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh .

According to Mihin Gambo, Superintendent of Police, ICR Naharlagun , the aheroin from Assam to Arunachal Pradesh. The suspect was reportedly traveling on a scooty, and based on this information, the Banderdewa police were put on high alert.

The police attempted to intercept the suspect at the Banderdewa check gate, but the individual, later identified as Babul Islam (38) , a resident of Bihupuria in **LakhimLakhimpur district, Assam, managed to evade the checkpoint. Despite the escape, the police team did not give up and continued their pursuit.

Under the leadership of SP Naharlagun, Mihin Gambo, and supervised by Inspector Kipa Hamak and **ASI LP MemaASI LP Mema , the police youBorum village in **NaharlagunNaharlagun. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a soap case containing the illicit drug, heroin. The total weight of the recovered substance was 13.46 grams.

Following the arrest, police confirmed that Babul Islam is part of an interstate drug trafficking network, and investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the heroin and any potential connections to larger drug syndicates operating in the region.

The Operation Dawn continues to target drug trafficking and related crimes in the state, with authorities committed to tackling the growing menace of illegal narcotics coming from neighboring states.
