Arslan Fatahi and Saman Safari Arrested in Iran

Two Kurdish Yarsan followers detained by Iranian forces

Two Kurdish adherents of the Yarsan religion, Arslan Fatahi and Saman Safari, were arrested by Iranian security forces in Javanrud on January 29, 2025. The two men, both from Gahwareh, were detained by the IRGC Intelligence forces without being shown an arrest warrant, according to a report from the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

The report stated that Arslan Fatahi was released after being held temporarily for a few hours. However, Saman Safari remains in custody, with no information about his current location or condition. As of the time of the report, there has been no official explanation for their arrests or details on the charges they may face.
