Arrest Warrants Issued for Gilani Brothers and Others Over COVID-19 Ordinance Breach

MULTAN — Judicial Magistrate Shahid Hassan Mughal has issued arrest warrants for four brothers of former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, including Abdul Qadir Gilani, Ali Musa Gilani, Ali Qasim Gilani, and Ali Haider Gilani, a member of the Provincial Assembly. The Gilani brothers are accused of interfering with government functions during the pandemic lockdown by violating COVID-19 ordinances.

The court action follows their repeated failure to attend court hearings despite summons and failure to comply with court orders. Alongside the Gilani brothers, arrest warrants have been issued for several other individuals, including former MPA Usman Bhatti, Babunfis Ahmed Ansari, and others, all linked to the alleged breach of the COVID-19 ordinance.

The accused were initially arrested at Chehllyak police station for their actions during the lockdown. However, their failure to comply with subsequent court orders led the Judicial Magistrate to direct Chehllyak police to arrest them and present them in court.
