Arif Ali Arrested in Agninava Temple Theft Case in Assam

In a breakthrough in the Agninava temple theft case, the Railway Police have arrested a youth named Arif Ali. The police also recovered several stolen items, including a gold Shiva Murti, from the accused. Another suspect, however, remains absconding.

The Agninava temple, located in Nazira town, Shivsagar district of Assam, is a renowned Shiva temple. On the night of November 28th, unknown miscreants broke into the temple and stole valuable items, including a gold Murti of Bhagwan Shiva, gold and silver ornaments, and a gold Trishul.

Following the theft, the temple committee filed a complaint, and a joint search operation was launched by the police and other law enforcement agencies. The Railway Police were also alerted, and on the morning of November 29th, two youths were detained at Simaluguri railway station.

During the search, the police successfully recovered the gold Shiva Murti and other stolen items. While one youth managed to flee, Arif Ali, a resident of Titabor town, was arrested.

Authorities are continuing their search efforts to apprehend the other suspect involved in the crime.
