Anthony Trenton Charged in Armed Robbery at Dollar General

BELTON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Anthony Trenton, 22, has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Dollar General store on Monday, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at the store on Highway 252 in Belton. Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a report that the suspect had held the store clerk at gunpoint and demanded cash from the register. Fortunately, no one was harmed during the robbery.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Trenton as the suspect. On Wednesday, Trenton was arrested and booked into the Anderson County Detention Center. He faces charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Trenton is currently being held on a $15,000 cash bond. The sheriff’s office also noted that Trenton has a criminal history, including a 2021 conviction for armed robbery. He had been sentenced to six years in prison, but after serving one year, he was released on probation for five years.
