Anthony Simbler Sentenced to 7 Years for 2022 Shooting

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Anthony Simbler, 20, was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday for his involvement in a shooting on Green Bay’s east side in December 2022. He was also placed on four years of extended supervision after being convicted of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and several other charges.

Before his sentence was issued, Simbler apologized for his actions during the shooting. “I fully intend to change in all aspects. This has been a lesson learned. By the time I am released, I desire to become a mentor for our youth so they can learn from the mistakes I made,” Simbler said.

Simbler’s brother, 18-year-old Avion Simbler, is scheduled to be sentenced on December 13 for his involvement in the same shooting, also facing charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

At the time of the incident, Anthony Simbler was 18, and Avion Simbler was 16. Both were charged as adults. The Simblers allegedly attacked a 20-year-old man, firing multiple shots at him. The victim was injured, suffering one gunshot wound to the arm and another to the abdomen.

The victim stated that he went to the scene to confront his sister’s boyfriend, intending to fight if necessary. While Avion Simbler denied being on Humboldt Road, Anthony admitted to being there with his brother. However, he claimed that when the shooting began, he ran to his car and shortly after, Avion knocked on his window to be let in.

A gun was recovered at the scene of the shooting.
