CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Anthony Porter, the man arrested for robbing a Timberlake Road gas station at gunpoint, appeared before a judge in Campbell County on Friday.
Surveillance footage from the Shell station, recorded on Wednesday, shows Porter entering the store and pointing a large gun at the cashier, who then complied and handed over money. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said they located and arrested Porter later that day after executing a search warrant.
Porter, 38, faces three charges related to the robbery at the Shell station, including two felonies and a misdemeanor:
Robbery using a firearm
Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (1st offense)
Pointing/brandishing a firearm
Porter attended his hearing remotely from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail. During the hearing, the judge appointed him a defense attorney as the case progresses through the court system.
Porter remains held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail without bond. He has requested a bond hearing, which is expected to take place next week.
