CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO – A 31-year-old man, prohibited from owning firearms, was arrested in Cape Girardeau on March 24, 2025, after police found a handgun with an extended magazine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia during an investigation.

🚔 Officers responded around 12:00 a.m. to a home on the 1000 block of Hickory Street for a weapons violation report.
🚔 The homeowner informed police that a friend was in the basement with a gun.
🚔 Officers entered the basement and took the suspect, Anthony Harris (31), into custody.
