Anthony Albert Sims Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Police Chase

A suspect driving a stolen vehicle was taken into custody following a police chase on Friday in Gluckstadt. According to Gluckstadt Police Chief Barry Hale, an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from Oxford, on I-55 North. The suspect, identified as Anthony Albert Sims, fled the scene and drove into the median near Pisgah Bottom Road in Canton, attempting to head back south.

The vehicle became stuck, and Sims attempted to run away. Officers were able to capture him approximately half a mile north in the woods near Pisgah Bottom Road.

Sims is now facing charges of felony eluding, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen property.
