Anopkumar Maudhoo Charged in Fraud Case Involving Luxury Cars

Anopkumar Maudhoo, a 45-year-old man from Wapping, London, has been charged with four counts of fraud by false representation in connection to a suspected large-scale conveyancing fraud. The charges were made on Friday, September 27, following a series of warrants executed by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) across 11 locations in London and Radlett, Hertfordshire.

The police arrested two men and two women on suspicion of fraud and money laundering offenses. During the raids, officers seized a speedboat and 22 high-value luxury cars, including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, and other supercars. They also discovered approximately £70,000 in cash, along with various documentation and digital devices believed to be related to the fraudulent activities.

According to an ERSOU spokesperson, the investigation centers around fraudulent schemes where victims were allegedly offered investment opportunities in repossessed properties or land re-development projects. Maudhoo has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Southwark Crown Court on October 25. The three other suspects have been released under investigation, pending further inquiries.
