Anju Sharma Arrested for Job Fraud Impersonating Police Officer

Rajasthan Police have arrested Anju Sharma, a woman accused of deceiving numerous job seekers by impersonating a Delhi Police officer. Sharma, who posed as a sub-inspector for three years, was apprehended on Tuesday following a tip-off regarding her fraudulent activities.

According to officials, Sharma exploited her fake identity to access VIP services and swindle unemployed individuals by promising them government jobs. Churu SP Jai Yadav reported that a police team from the Sahwa station in Churu district detained her, discovering that she had only completed her 12th-grade education. During her arrest, authorities seized a counterfeit Delhi Police ID card and found images and videos on her phone depicting her in a police uniform.

Investigations revealed that Sharma targeted unemployed youths in Delhi, Jaipur, and Haryana, extracting significant sums of money under false pretenses. One victim, Arjun Lal, filed a complaint stating that Sharma defrauded him ofRs12.93 lakh by promising him a position as a head constable in the Delhi Police. His complaint was instrumental in exposing the extent of her deceitful operations.

This case highlights the necessity of verifying credentials before engaging with individuals offering job placements. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent further incidents of fraud. The police are continuing their investigation to identify additional victims and collaborators involved in Sharma’s scheme.
